Travis Sauter grew up in Central Wisconsin with the strong desire to follow in the footsteps of the Sauter men before him. Like his grandfather, Jim, a former Winston Cup driver, his uncles, Johnny and Jay, and his father Tim, all former NASCAR drivers, Travis has the determination and the talent to achieve success.
Travis began racing in 2003, scoring 4 feature wins and qualifying in the top 2 every race. That same year he recorded fast time in his super late model debut. From 2004 to 2008 Travis captured 7 wins, 33 top 5’s, 45 top 10’s and 7 fast times in 65 starts.
Since 2009 Travis has raced many special events around the Midwest. He has won the prestigious Oktoberfest championship at La Crosse Speedway 3 times(09, 11,12), as well as winning the 2012 Howie Lettow Memorial 150 at the Milwaukee Mile in a race that drew 80 entries including NASCAR stars Rusty Wallace and Matt Kenseth. In 2012 and 2013 combined, Travis won 13 out of 24 races he entered including 6 ARCA Midwest Tour races. In 2013 he also made his debut in the ARCA Racing Series and in the NASCAR Nationwide Series
Away from racing Travis enjoys playing basketball and golf, and spending time with his wife Amber, and their children, Reid and Lucy.
